Mott MacDonald is looking for a Civil engineering lead to support projects in our Pittsburgh and Great Lakes offices. As our technical lead, you will collaborate closely with senior team members to develop effective civil design solutions that meet the expectations of the client.
You will have extensive knowledge in the design of stormwater and drainage infrastructure, water and wastewater infrastructure including pump stations and treatment facilities, general utilities, roadways, and site development for multidisciplinary projects from concept, feasibility, and detailed design through construction stages. In addition, you will prepare or oversee preparation of construction drawings and technical specifications prepared by you and others working on the project.
Responsibilities will include these:Engage as part of large multidisciplinary teams and review design documents for consistency and coordinationSometimes lead the large multidisciplinary teamLead the infrastructure design including roadways, utilities, stormwater water and sanitary sewers, water mains, site grading, and drainagePerform hydraulic and hydrologic calculations and analysis to evaluate and develop solutions for stormwater designs including drainage, stormwater management, green infrastructure, and low-impact development principlesPrepare calculations, engineering design plans, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimatesEngage in verbal and written communications with clients, contractors, and subcontractorsDevelop technical libraries and support digital innovations within the organizationWork as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver complex civil infrastructure projects within budget and timeline, and to the requirements of the client.Perform project reporting including progress and finance as requiredMentor and train junior staffLead a design team whose members may not all be in the same office
The ideal candidate will have the following:Registered Professional Engineer with 15+ years of experience working in all facets of civil engineeringPrevious experience mentoring, training, or leading junior staffExperience working in Civil 3-DKnowledge of and ability to work with others in RevitAutoCAD and MicroStation experience
