Job Description

Receptionist Officer with Control Room Support

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm (Open to overtime if needed)

Location: Bedford, MA

Wage: $19.47/hour

Securitas USA is seeking a dedicated and reliable Receptionist Security Officer to join our team. This unique role combines front-line reception duties with security responsibilities, ensuring both a welcoming environment for visitors and a secure facility. In addition to managing reception tasks, the individual will assist with operations in the control room, ensuring the smooth functioning of security systems and protocols. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities: Receptionist Duties:
  • Greet and assist visitors, clients, and employees in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Manage the sign-in/sign-out process for all visitors and contractors.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and provide general information to callers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Handle incoming mail and packages, ensuring proper distribution.
  • Monitor and manage access control systems for building entry.
  • Coordinate with other departments or staff as needed to facilitate smooth operations.
Security Officer Duties:
  • Monitor security systems (CCTV, alarms, and access control systems) to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the building and surrounding areas to detect potential security risks or hazards.
  • Respond to security incidents or emergencies promptly and follow established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, security breaches, or incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with all company security policies and procedures.
Control Room Support:
  • Assist in the operation of the security control room, monitoring surveillance feeds, and handling incidents as directed by the security team.
  • Assist with the coordination of security responses, emergency evacuations, and access control management from the control room.
  • Provide backup support for the control room team during peak hours or when additional coverage is needed.
  • Collaborate with other security staff to ensure communication is seamless across shifts and during critical incidents.
  • Ability to respond quickly to security or emergency situations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional security or customer service training is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist, security, or customer service role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with security systems, CCTV, access control, and emergency response protocols is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and handle emergency situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
