Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Teacher Orientation and Mobility to provide students with appropriate learning experiences and activities designed to help them in social, intellectual, and emotional growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function in a successful and positive manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructs students with visual impairments to be mobile in a proficient and safe manner in all environments
Consults with teachers, parents, and school support staff to ensure that home and classroom environments are properly modified and/or adapted for Amergisization of independence in mobility
Develop and implement lesson plans
Prepare lessons that accommodate learning styles
Assist in the selection of instructional materials and equipment
Assess student learning styles and use results to plan educational activities
Conduct assessments of student progress and achievement using testing methodology
Compile reports, records, and documents as required
Conduct conferences with parents, teachers, students, and other School District staff
Follow School District policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree from accredited university preferred
Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations
Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
