Job/Position Summary

The Project/Account Manager leads efforts for specific assigned customers using a “cradle to grave” approach, from quoting and Purchase Order receipt and validation to production and delivery.

Position-Specific Essential Functions

Responsible for quoting/estimating for assigned customers, including calculating internal and external labor resources for capability and availability, validating requirements, interpreting specifications, and obtaining material and process costs to provide profitable, yet competitive quote submissions. Follow-up on non-awarded quoted items also required. Responsible for Purchase Order management/acknowledgment, creation of Job Travelers, and to set up quotes, sales orders, jobs, and related information in M2M. Manages Open Order Spreadsheets and/or requirements on customer portals and/or websites. Maintains current job and status information in M2M. Identifies resource needs and works with appropriate departments to ensure timely availability. Creates and executes a project timeline for new orders; revises same as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements; tracks jobs as they progress through production. Ensures costs are in line with quote and alerts Manager in the event of possible cost overruns. Attends Production and Backlog Meetings and effectively communicates relevant customer and job information to appropriate personnel. Effectively and efficiently communicates with and supports assigned customers, adapting to new customers as volume dictates. Resolves or escalates issues in a timely fashion. Follows up with customers regarding any issues, as well as production status. Follows up on delivered products to ensure customer satisfaction. Assists other Project/Account Managers and departments as necessary or required. Responsible for mentoring and/or training personnel as assigned. Maintains open communication and works with other departments as required or necessary to ensure timely and accurate production and delivery of products. Assists Management with special projects. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

2-5 years minimum experience in this position or a similar or related position in the manufacturing/machinist industry or a combination of education and related experience resulting in sufficient understanding and knowledge of the practices, procedures, capabilities, and requirements required to successfully perform in the position, but not less than two (2) years. ** Technical knowledge of machined parts; experience with modern machine shop manufacturing and inspection methods. Prior Quoting/Estimating experience preferred. Ability to learn, understand, and communicate industry specifications and standards. Blueprint reading skills and proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing preferred. Previous MRP/ERP experience; Made2Manage (M2M) experience a strong plus. Results driven, proactive, stress tolerant, works well under time constraints. Solid, dependable, hardworking with strong work ethic. Well-developed judgment, deductive reasoning, and decision making skills. Good analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Ability to respond consistently with a high degree of initiative to resolve issues or complex problems. Ability to both act independently and with minimal supervision, and to take direction well and follow verbal and written instructions. Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and soft skills, including well-developed listening skills. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. Ability to assess workload and work overtime when necessary; ability to work an established schedule with minimal tardy or absence occurrences. Ability and flexibility to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequently changing dynamics; efficient with strong time management skills. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Strong negotiation skills. Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Proficient with MS Office suite and other work-related software. Above average presentation and reporting skills. Courteous and professional demeanor; high level of integrity; demonstrated maturity and stability in word and actions. Ability and willingness to understand and embrace new techniques as they emerge and upgrade skills to meet changes in the manufacturing industry and environment, and/or the Company’s business. Ability to maintain a positive Company image and brand, both at and outside of the work environment. Ability to interact with all members of the organization; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; willing to take on extra tasks as necessary and create/maintain healthy working relationships.
