Schedules are subject to change based off the needs of the Hospital and the Department. Training Days/Hours TBD****This position will pay $22-$27 hourly DOE**Overall Responsibility: The Clinical Assistant supports the Neurologist and Technicians needs as a bridge role between Assistant and Technician. This role is to support the Technician and Neurologist facilitate patient care through preparation of patients for procedures, client care and minor treatments.Key Areas of Responsibility: Performs animal restraintHelp admit patients for diagnostic testingPerform TPR accuratelyAssist the Technician in the collection of various diagnostic samplesPerform blood work (procyte, chemistry, sedivue, lacuna, assist with send out)StockingVenipuncture to include IV catheter placement, blood draws, and medication administration. Cleaning/disinfecting after procedures. Facilitating consultationsPrepares for procedures and anticipates the needs of the departmentAssist Technicians in MRI's, radiographs, and a variety of other proceduresAdministration of oral, IM, SQ medications and SQ fluidsOther duties as directedSupports other areas and departments as needed. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required. At least 2 years of animal experience.Preferred Qualifications: Two years of experience in a veterinary setting a with job similar job responsibilities.Physical Requirements: This job is physically active and requires frequent bending. It also requires routine lifting and restraining of animals in excess of 50 pounds.Skill Requirements: Strong ability to multitask and anticipate needs. Proficient in animal restraint. Excellent communication, both written and verbal. Ability to navigate Medical Record and Whiteboard programs in a veterinary setting.
