Job Summary:UCHealth is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to assist eye care providers in the care of patients and flow of clinical activities. The successful candidate will ensure proper care and usage of medical instruments, perform basic optometric testing procedures, and assist with minor procedures and prescription refill process under the direction of an eye care provider.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient care under the direct supervision of an eye care provider.
- Perform basic optometric testing procedures, diagnostic testing, and tasks delegated by the eye care provider.
- Assist with minor procedures and prescription refill process under the direction of an eye care provider.
- Document patient information, provide education, and enter charges.
- Assist with the flow of patient care and ensure a smooth clinical experience.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ophthalmic Medical Assisting Independent Study Course or JCAHPO Career Advancement Tool (JCAT) within two years of hire.
- Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) within 30 days of hire or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
