Our Energy & Transportation (E&T) segment has a broad portfolio of products and services - which include engines, generator sets, industrial gas turbines and locomotives, along with other related equipment depending on the industry and application. This individual contributor role will positively impact the SPM Oil & Gas division. In this role, you will also be responsible for general ledger accounting for US, Canada, and Latin America legal entities. The primary tasks include preparing/posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and financial reporting.

What You Will Do:

Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

Prepare/post journal entries, verifying and reconciling input to financial reporting systems

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and establish the course of action for aged items

Variance analysis and legal entity reporting

Create purchase requisitions and confirm purchase order status

Tax support including audits and special projects

Special projects and ad hoc reporting as requested

What You Have:

Education/Experience:

This position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business-related degree

Accuracy and Attention to Detail:

Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Analytical Thinking:

Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternatives that resolve these problems.

Effective Communications:

Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Managing Multiple Priorities:

Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
