Job Title: Payroll Administrator

Reports to: Manager, Payroll

Job Overview: The Los Angeles Lakers is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our dynamic team.The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.This role demands a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Responsibilities:
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for employees across multiple companies, ensuring adherence to company policies and relevant legal requirements.
  • Perform complex payroll computations, including payroll taxes, retroactive payments, commissions, bonuses, leave of absence adjustments, terminations, and other adjustments.
  • Review and audit timecards to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Analyze and reconcile payroll transaction data to guarantee accurate payroll payments, reporting, and records.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll reports and records.
  • Respond to and investigate payroll processing and compliance inquiries from employees, managers, and external agencies.
  • Provide support for audits throughout the year.
  • Assist with the complimentary ticket process during the season.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll data.
  • Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and other departments as needed.
  • Support the company by providing ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.
**Responsibilities subject to change based on organizational needs and direction from management.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • FPC or CPP designation preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration or related role.
Required Skills:
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong mathematical skills with precise calculation abilities.
  • Capable multitasker, managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Professional demeanor with proven ability to interact with all organizational levels and external contacts.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in handling tasks and challenges.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll regulations, including federal and state wage, hour, and tax laws.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Location: El Segundo and other occasional off-site events, as needed.

Hours: Regular office hours (9am- 5:30pm M-F), plus overtime if needed.

The pay range for this role is $30.00/hour to $35.00/hour. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and certifications.
