Position Summary:
THE FOCUS IS YOU:
We are looking to add an Administrative Assistant to our team who will support the tax department at UHY LLP, a fast-growing, public accounting firm located in midtown Manhattan. Under the general supervision and direction of the Director of Administration, the Tax Administrative assistant will work in a fast-paced department that is looking for an individual who takes pride in quality work. You will be an integral part of our tax department by demonstrating your ability to field numerous requests under strict deadlines and still uphold tact and diplomacy while sustaining high standards when producing your work.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Regular duties include (but are not limited to):
- Assist with the implementation of training sessions and departmental meetings
- Provide administrative support to Tax Department and or any Partners you may support
- Assembly of paper tax organizers/online versions
- Assembly of tax returns
- Scan tax documentation into client electronic files
- Input time and Expenses for tax Partners
- Create new client accounts and workstream tax projects
- Route Returns for tax processing
- Docket chargeable administrative time to clients as allowed
- Assist with amendments to client correspondence
- Process Tax returns through SafeSend Portal
- Prepare monthly WIP and process account on a regular basis for any Partners you may support
- Special Projects and ad hoc assignments as assigned
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience
- Preferably 3-5 years previous work experience as an administrative assistant in a corporate setting
- Previous experience in an accounting (tax department highly preferred) or financial firm desirable but not required
- Expert level knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects under tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
- Comfortable working with all levels of staff & management
- Ability to work in the office due to the nature of the work
Education
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience of 2 plus years of administrative professional services experience

For job postings in our New York City location, we are required by law to include a good faith salary range for every job, promotion, and transfer opportunity in accordance with the New York City Human Rights Law. This range considers many factors, including but not limited to a candidates knowledge, job specific skills, experience, licensure, and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $53,000 to $77,000.
