Clayton Services is searching for a Senior Technical Sales Manager to join a thriving company in Houston, Texas. The Senior Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy for the Central Texas oil & gas equipment and services industry, including building and maintaining customer relationships, creating sales plans, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments.

Job Type: Direct-Hire

Pay Rate: $90,000/base + commission

Travel: 50 to 70% (travel will include: Houston, Dallas, Oklahoma, Louisiana)

Senior Technical Sales Manager Responsibilities

Develop and nurture relationships with current and potential Texas, OK, and LA oil & gas customers. Formulate a comprehensive sales plan for the assigned territory, covering prospecting, qualifying, and cultivating new sales leads. Use various methods to connect with clients, qualify leads, and drive them through the sales pipeline. Identify opportunities for additional purchases from existing customers and facilitate the closing of deals. Review customer inquiries and determine appropriate product selections, creating order notations for exceptions. Respond to customer requests for information, clarifying quotations and purchase order requirements. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure detailed and complete quotation packages based on project specifications and deadlines. Prepare weekly sales update reports, including customer visit outcomes, purchase order statuses, and industry news. Provide quarterly progress updates on account sales and forecasts to the Inside Sales team. Maintain accurate records in the CRM system and manage the Houston inventory facility, including warehouse responsibilities.

Senior Technical Sales Manager Skills and Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-starter and team player. Ability to travel on-site to clients throughout the week - up to 70% of traveling. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Senior Technical Sales Manager Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree is preferred. 5+ years of client-facing experience with technical products (completions and frac services) in the upstream oil and gas industry with demonstrated success. Demonstrated success in presenting and selling complex technical solutions to management, field, and engineering personnel for customers in the oil and gas industry.
