This position is based out of any of our New England offices (Portsmouth, NH, Manchester, NH, Yarmouth, ME, Burlington, VT, North Andover, MA) and is a hybrid remote position opportunity. The right candidate will be a strong contributor on a team tasked with the development of transportation infrastructure plans and specifications, calculation checks, quantity calculations and construction observation. They will lead CADD teammates and perform bridge design / misc structural design, bridge inspections / ratings, collect field data and perform construction observation.

Structural bridge design (steel, prestressed concrete & timber), preparation of construction cost estimate, technical specifications and construction administration.

As a Project Engineer you will:

  • Have a primary role in an integrated, multi-discipline team that solves technical challenges on projects of significant scope, size and difficulty
  • Complete assignments accurately and on time with limited direction from the Project Manager
  • Develop an understanding of project budget, scope of services, project development, project schedule and provide updates and recommendations to the Project Manager in maintaining schedule and budget
  • Understand the client's organization, key people, and client expectations
  • Share best practices to improve performance and efficiency of self and team
  • Develop person-hour estimates and budgets with guidance from senior staff
  • Lead small team for moderately complex projects
  • Assist in proposal efforts and development
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and feedback to develop entry-level and staff engineers, peers and others as needed
  • Conduct site visits and participate in or lead meetings with clients/contractors
  • Demonstrate strong technical writing and presentation skills for deliverables, proposals, and presentation in a public setting (for clients or at seminars/conferences)
Requirements

Qualified Candidates will have:
  • BS (MS preferred) Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Current PE in NH, MA, ME, or VT
  • Experience with MaineDOT, NHDOT, VTrans or MassDOT and municipal bridge projects
  • Experience with the software and programs which include AutoCAD, Microstation, Bridge Structural Analysis Programs, MathCad, BlueBeam, etc.
