Description

The Payments Analyst is responsible for providing support to the day-to-day operations of the Payment Services team, which includes managing ATM, Debit & Credit, ACH, and Checking transactions, as well as Bill Pay and RDC supporting the Online and Mobile banking platform. This role serves as an analyst on all payment-related services, including initiatives and projects related to these operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and security protocols.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Payments and Cards team, assisting in the oversight of ACH processing, wire transfers, P2P, online bill pay, mobile deposits, and the plastics program (debit/credit), including change management, new product implementation, and process improvement.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Payment Services (ACH, Wire, Cards, RDC, Bill Pay) departmental policies and procedures, including policy creation, editing, and modification.
  • Support the disputes and resolution process, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while optimizing member experience.
  • Assist in managing payment services and delivery processes to enhance member experience and maximize organizational resources related to inquiries, issues, and requests related to electronic services, providing excellent customer service, and resolving problems effectively.
  • Contribute to the credit union's efforts to prevent and detect fraud by monitoring transaction patterns, identifying suspicious activity, and implementing appropriate security measures.
  • Analyze electronic service data, prepare reports on transaction volumes, trends, and performance indicators, and present findings to management for decision-making purposes.
  • Assist in providing reports on payment activity, tracking trends and losses, monitoring activity, and delivering formal management reports.
  • Collaborate with Retail Services, Operations, and the Virtual Center to support in addressing escalated payment, card, and online banking issues (Bill Pay and RDC).
  • Assist and collaborate with electronic service vendors, evaluating their performance, resolving issues, and negotiating contracts to ensure the credit union receives quality services at competitive rates.
  • Monitor electronic funds transfers, tracking and reconciling transactions to ensure accuracy and prompt processing.
  • Assist credit union members with inquiries, issues, and requests related to electronic services, providing excellent member service, and resolving problems effectively.
  • Maintain awareness of and adherence to LCCU policies and procedures and regulations such as Reg D, Reg E, Reg Z, Bank Secrecy Act, Federal Reserve, ACH, UCC, and other relevant requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, streamlines workflows, and implements best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in electronic service operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; from two to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial services (credit union preferred) payments operations, or a related industry.
  • 2+ working experience in financial services back office supporting payment solutions preferred.
  • Knowledge of ACH processing, wire transfers, P2P, online bill pay, and mobile deposit operations.
  • Knowledge of Remote Deposit Capture (Ensenta preferred).
  • Professional working proficiency in English required and Spanish a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software platforms.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal team and external vendors.
  • Ability to analyze and comprehend complex financial data and provide financial alternatives.
  • Ability to manage time, strong organizational skills, and keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively and proactively.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently.
