We are looking for an experienced Director of Human Resources to ensure that all human resources (HR) operations are carried out smoothly and effectively. Essential in this company is finding win-win solutions with a calming presence. Creativity and flexibility in management styles as well as interactions with C-Suite, Directors, Managers, and employees is imperative. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing HR strategies and providing sound advice to senior management on all related subjects. In this role, you must be an experienced professional with deep knowledge of all matters concerning HR departments including safety, benefits administration, compensation design/administration, communications, HRIS (Paycom or similar), and organizational change. You should be able to manage projects and programs and lead staff while also possessing a strong strategic mindset. Benefits PTO that starts accruing on the first day 100% Company paid Employee only Medical as well as Long Term Disability, and Life Insurance Affordable dental & vision insurance (optional) Safe Harbor 401(k) with 3.5% Company match Weekly pay Employee discounts Work with a fun, close-knit group Bonus eligible Essential Functions and Responsibilities Lead a team of Human Resources, Safety/Security, and Talent Strategy professionals Oversee the development of recruiting strategies & programs to attract, develop, and retain talent. This is a hands-on, roll up your sleeves position. Coordinate with senior leadership to craft organization-wide strategies and objectives. Guide and advise managers on corrective action, development plans, employee terminations. Represent the organization for external employment complaints and litigation including Unemployment. Advise management and other leaders regarding employment law and regulatory compliance. Consult with upper management and company executives on strategic planning issues like employee benefit programs, employee recruitment and training programs, payroll budgeting, and compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations. Perform thorough investigations into harassment and ethics complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner. Coach HR team members on their roles, expectations, performance, and development. Basic Qualifications Preferred: Bachelors degree or Master's Degree in Human Resources, Organization Development or Related. Minimum 7-10 years of Human Resources or related experience in a fast-paced, high-performance environment; Prior field-based HR experience preferred. SPHR/PHR or SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP certification preferred. Demonstrated success implementing effective employee relations strategies. Demonstrated progressive experience leading and developing high-performing teams, successfully motivating and influencing the work of others. Acute business acumen, understanding of organizational challenges, and successfully resolving them by implementing effective HR strategies. Demonstrated experience using data and analytics to solve complex business challenges. Proven track record of managing multiple complex projects. Organized, detail-oriented, and creative problem solver with a relentless drive for improvement; capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering results in a high-performance environment. Approximately 10% travel to retail stores. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: Excellent interpersonal skills respectful and responsive. Ability to work effectively with others, possessing tact and discretion and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality in all matters. Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and a sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under pressure. Displays a positive, optimistic attitude in all interactions with people. Team player with growth, development, and challenge accepted mindset. Communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with internal and external customers and employees, members of the HR team, and in group presentations and meetings. Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently. Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality. Knowledge of multi-state and federal employment laws and regulations. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills working with all levels of the organization. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects independently, and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to make decisions consistent with department strategy and company policies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for recruiting, presenting information and ideas, and responding to questions from co-workers, vendors, clients, and customers. Ability to solve problems and apply creative and timely solutions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Work is performed generally in an office setting with occasional travel to other locations and retail stores. Occasional: Standing, walking, sitting, climbing, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending for extended periods of time. Occasional: Climate: Ability to withstand exposure to atmospheric extremes including heat, cold, humidity, and barometric pressure changes. Occasional: Lifting up to 50lb, raising and lowering objects under 35 lbs. from one level to another Occasional: Reaching below shoulders: Extending arms in any direction below shoulders.
