Marvel Medical Staffing is seeking a dynamic and results-drivenCorporate Controllerto join our passionate team inOmaha, Nebraska. As theCorporate Controller,you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial activities of our organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with our business objectives. Key Responsibilities of a Corporate Controller:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including:
  • General Accounting
  • Manages accurate and timely month-end close process
  • Supports monthly financial reporting process including generation and presentation of monthly financial statements
  • Manage debt & cash balances with bank & monthly bank compliance reporting
  • Maintains a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Assists with cash management and forecasting
  • Analyzes the costs, value, risks, and ROI within major projects to advise management and suggest actions.
  • Develops and enforces internal controls, policies, procedures and workflows to maximize protection of company assets
  • Oversees and supports accounting staff to include hiring, development, determining future needs, and training
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of accounting software and systems to determine future needs
  • Develops and monitors business performance metrics
  • Commissions management, payment processing, and financial impact analysis of plans
  • Accounts payable invoice and payment management
  • Accounts receives and collections
  • Maintain proper customer invoicing processes and procedures
  • Maintains consistent cash collections processes and procedures and healthy accounts receivable metrics
  • Manage and determine proper process for bad debt reserves
  • Payroll
  • Manage payroll leaders and employees
  • Processing including weekly traveler and bi-weekly corporate
  • Maximizes payroll efficiency through innovative process development
  • Ensures payroll, federal, state, and unemployment tax filings are completed as required
Work Experience

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Understanding of GAAP principles
  • Posses a high degree of autonomy, critical thinking, and project management abilities
  • Ability to become a subject matter expert on business intelligence as it relates to how the front and back-end systems provide data
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of developing and motivating high-performing teams
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset and a passion for driving business results
Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related field
  2. Five (5) years of relevant accounting and finance experience
  3. Five (5) years of accounting department supervisory experience, can be concurrent with #2
  4. Working understanding of finance systems and how they interact with other company systems including QuickBooks, HRIS, and CRM
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel
  6. Proficient in financial management software
  7. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Accounting experience in the Staffing Industry
  • Payroll experience and supervisory experience
