Raytheon is seeking a Senior Processing Operations Support Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering operational support to a proprietary customer within the Intelligence Community, delivering mission critical capabilities that enable the planning and execution of intelligence gathering and process the resulting collected data into useful information and distribute to users. This is a day staff position that supports personnel in a fast-paced 24 x 7 Operations and Maintenance (O&M) environment. Personnel filling this position are required to be available to provide shift coverage for Shift Mission Processing Engineers as needed. The O&M team is responsible for all aspects of operational processing and solving challenging problems that will make a difference in our country's future. Location: Near Springfield, VA or Las Cruces, NM

Employment is contingent upon contract award, customer funding, upon acceptance by the customer and/or meeting customer sustainability; planned for January 2025 - April 2025.

What You Will Do
  • Obtain and maintain Processing Systems Engineer Certification.
  • Work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule: be on rotation for on call and surge shift support.
  • Provide guidance, oversight, and support to Shift Processing Engineers.
  • Develop and update guidelines, procedures, and other documentation for Shift Processing Engineers.
  • Oversee and provide technical support and training to personnel that operate equipment necessary to capture, process, distribute and archive data.
  • Provide shift coverage when needed for Shift Processing Engineers.
  • Identify artifacts and anomalies; perform root cause analysis to mitigate anomalies; mitigate error message handling.
  • Provide oversight of technical mission framework.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide and validate multi-mission processing solutions.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in executing assigned tasks.
  • Experience with mission processing with a focus on product definition and generation.
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.


The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
