Inventory Control: Establishes par levels for patient care, imaging, and office supplies and procedures for ordering same. Equipment Management: Keeps abreast of current technological advances, recommending purchasing or modifications to equipment to maintain current technology. Secures preventive and periodic maintenance of all equipment through appropriate vendors. Performs quality control monitoring of all equipment and maintains records according to the Texas Department of Health regulations. Quality Improvement: Participates in interdepartmental and departmental QA monitoring. Involves personnel in QA activities. Supervises and coordinates employee schedules, call, and holidays. Hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates employee performance according to hospital policy. Budget: Develops, maintains, and monitors department budget for fiscal year October 1 - September 30. Participates in Annual Budget Preparation. Administrative: Develops and maintains departmental policies and procedures in accordance with TDH-BRC regulations and hospital policy and procedures. Department Specific Responsibilities:

Establishes and assures the maintenance of the required stock levels of supplies for the District. Monitors system to review stock levels on a continuous basis. Orders supplies needed to maintain stock levels or create new inventories. Manages the receipt of supplies and reconciles items received with Purchase Order(s) issued. Manages the system for maintaining inventory levels and issuing supplies. Inputs orders and items received into the system. Delivers supplies to the appropriate departments and assures charges are properly chargeable. Maintains the system for recording charges and inventory reductions for patient chargeable. Conducts periodic inventories of supplies for accountability purposes. Maintains a listing of vendors and suppliers of supplies and a record of costs. Monitors the cost of supplies purchased. Continually checks on prices and price changes and investigates the use of substitute items. Establishes a system to make notifications and control the disposition of recall items. Manages the identification of equipment needs and a record of costs. Coordinates with departments and Administration to identify and gain approval for equipment acquisitions. Identifies sources for equipment acquisition. Manages the required bidding process, analyzes bids, and makes award recommendations to administration. Identifies and logs capital equipment with tags and tag numbers to assist with asset management. Job Related Factors

Adheres to the attendance policy. Follows District and Department Policies. Attends required meetings and in-services. Participates in Hospital District Safety Program and QA Programs. Practices proper phone etiquette, identifying self and department. Reports adverse events regarding patients, guests, or self to supervisor immediately. Education/Experience

High School Graduate or equivalent. Associate or higher degree in business or related materials management field preferred. Two (2) years experience in materials management or related area. Supervisory experience preferred. No technical training/licensure required. Physical Demands

Moderate periods of sitting/standing or walking.
