Sr Product Support Engineer

This position involves being a part of an Engineering team that designs, develops and sustains medium-voltage switchgear products for electric utilities in the area of Distribution Switching and Distribution Automation involving measurement, protection and communications.
The individual in this position will be responsible for supporting the Engineering team for their SAP and Engineering documentation needs. The individual will be responsible for performing all SAP related tasks such as - creating BOMs, modifying BOMs based on approved ECOs; setup and configure VCs for ETO (Engineered-to-Order) products of the BU, SAP workflow optimization, routing updates. Additionally, the individual in this position will also serve as Engineering Documentation coordinator and will make sure Engineering Design Documentation is completed on time and in a proper manner. The individual must be able to successfully work with various cross-functional teams of the BU such as the Manufacturing team, Product Management team, and Purchasing teams. This position is for an individual who demonstrates passion and proficiency and able to work with a required sense of urgency to deliver top-tier quality solutions to end-users.
* SAP BOM set up for new and existing products based on approved ECOs,
* Setup Variant-Configs on SAP to ETO-based products of the UA business unit,
* Troubleshoot potential issues in SAP's Manufacturing Module which may prevent transactions leading to shipment
issues,
* Troubleshoot potential issues related to ETO workflow to ensure continuous and consistent sales order processing,
* Own and manage SAP-based ECM system for the business unit, resolve potential issues with the ECM process,
* Prepare various SAP-related SOPs, training modules, PPTs and take the lead to train/coach various cross functional teams for their SAP needs,
* Be the key go-to person for SAP needs for the business unit
* Mentor offshore and offsite teams for their SAP needs and help them solve SAP-related problems they may be facing on their daily tasks,
* Closely work with sourcing/purchasing teams, Product management teams and manufacturing teams to ensure timely handling of their various SAP-related requests,
* Be a go-getter with an attitude to get things done to help the business,
* Play a critical and substantive role as the key go-to person for all SAP needs for the business unit
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management or Information Technology OR equivalent,
* At least 5 years of experience with SAP S/4HANA's Manufacturing Module,
* Must have prior experience in setting up BOMs, VCs, routing on SAP,
* Must have prior experience with SAP-based ECM process,
* Must have multiple years of exposure to SAP-related issues, problems that may impact shipment, direct buys and ability to understand and resolve them,
* Must have a proven track record for effectively working with various cross-functional teams within the organization on various projects,
* Must have a prior experience with managing Engineering Documentation; Should be able to create SAP-procedural documentation for the BU by creating flow charts, SOPs, training modules etc.
* Must be a passionate individual who wants to contribute to the success of the business by solving problems,
* Must be a very good communicator with strong interpersonal skills, accessible, approachable and someone who breeds positive morale.
