A leading services company in New Jersey, the Tandym Group, is seeking a seasoned Project Director to lead technical teams on new product development projects in Power Systems and Control Actuation Systems.

Job Description

This role involves overseeing the technical team's performance to meet project schedule and cost targets while supporting the program manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the new product development process for commercial and military platforms, demonstrating initiative, resourcefulness, judgment, cooperation, and effective communication of technical information.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage technical team performance to ensure project objectives are met within specified timeframes and budget constraints.
  • Lead the development process for new products across commercial and military platforms.
  • Communicate complex technical information effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support business pursuits by addressing technical requirements, schedules, and costs.
  • Oversee technical teams from project inception to completion.
  • Coordinate work among multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are maintained.
  • Foster strong relationships with commercial and military customers through technical program definition and execution.
  • Identify key technical tasks and resources required for projects, develop engineering plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), and other necessary documents.
  • Manage system requirements, defining lower-level specifications as needed.
  • Review and oversee technical reports to meet internal and external deliverables.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of experience as a technical lead, preferably in the aerospace/military industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading new product development projects.
  • Excellent communication, planning, organizational, supervisory, and control skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience executing projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to develop WBS, project plans, and technical requirements.
  • Detailed documentation and writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Ability to work closely with engineers and technicians in a laboratory environment.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.
Compensation Package

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and performance-based incentives.
