Description

Summary/Objective: The Senior Accountant is responsible for the general ledger and properly performing all financial activities related to financial reporting, financial profitability, analysis, and other special projects as assigned.

Essential Functions: Specific duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Fixed asset processing and reporting.
  • Financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis.
  • Auditing and verifying documents.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Assist in financial audit preparation and coordination.
  • Contribute to department and organization on special projects as assigned.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Lead and maintain the inventory records and monitor transactions for accuracy.
  • Assist the Accounting Supervisor and Chief Financial Officer in journal entry supporting paperwork, bank reconciliation, financial report and budget comparison report preparation and distribution.
  • Identify variations, fluctuations, and deviations as well as aid in the investigation and reporting of these findings to the Accounting Supervisor.
  • Document Senior Accountant procedures and maintain internal accounting standards.
  • Assist with testing and receive final approval for system reports required for management, financial reporting, and general ledger reconciliations.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.

Travel: Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree in accounting or related field
  • 3 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Combination of education and experience considered in lieu of requirements.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • 1 years of experience in an accounting role
