As a member of the team, the Cost Engineer will report directly to the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate costs are being forecasted on all projects. We're looking for an individual who has experience in the heavy civil projects and cost management who is detail oriented and collaborates well with others.

Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Administrative and financial analysis
  • Manage and monitor the overall project cost versus the budget
  • Ensure accurate and timely coding and entry into cost system
  • Record weekly production quantities into cost system
  • Prepare financial reports, projections, presentations and summary data
  • Record and track extra work for payment from owner
  • Review and process subcontractor and vendor payments
  • Process invoices for payment
  • Analyze change order values against the budget to include in cost projections
  • Attend project meetings and provide financial project status
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
  • 2-5 years' experience working in a similar role
  • General understanding of heavy civil construction and accounting principles
  • Experience with budget analysis, cash flow and other financial reports
  • Experience with accounting and project management software
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with lump sum and unit price projects
  • Strong understanding of productivity tracking and comparing actual productivity versus budget
