SUMMARY
The Network Engineer's role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. The Network Engineer is responsible for all phases of infrastructure connectivity and operations including network hardware (routers, switches, appliances); LAN/WAN connections; Internet connectivity, and isolating & resolving network issues. The Network Engineer will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. The individual must be highly technical and able to perform actual work required to monitor, troubleshoot, implement, and repair networks and systems. A well-qualified candidate will have strong working knowledge of IP Networking, routing protocols (such as BGP and EIGRP), WAN connectivity, wireless networking, and VoIP systems. Highly-refined communication skills are a requirement for interaction with IS team members and Hospital employees.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associates degree in computer science or related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Will consider applicants with four plus years of equivalent working experience in lieu of degree.
2. Two years of Information Systems support experience required.
3. CCNA certification is required at hire or obtained within 6 months of hire. Additional certifications such as Network+, Security+ are preferred in addition to the CCNA.
4. Advanced knowledge of IP networking, route/switch, wireless networking, XoIP applications is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows core technologies (such as Active Directory, DirectAccess, RRAS) as they relate to required networking configuration is required.
5. Work requires advanced interpersonal skills to communicate with team members, hospital employees, outside contracts and directors. Must possess patience and tolerance to train people of all different computer skill levels.
6. Work requires analytical ability to understand technical manuals, procedural documentation and OEM guides. Must be able to troubleshoot and conduct research into issues and products. Independent work and judgment is frequently required to resolve issues.
7. Work involves mental and visual focus requiring attention to detail to avoid errors. Ability to remain on tedious problem until solution is found and implemented. Work is performed under tight deadlines, must possess excellent time management and functional organizational skills to manage a variety of tasks in a short period of time.

Pennsylvania State Police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance, and an FBI criminal history check required.
