Hiring for Full-Time or Part-Time positions.

Full-Time Shifts are 8 AM - 4 PM or 12 PM - 8 PM

Part-Time Shifts vary dependent on availability.

**Summary**

Mackenthun's Deli Cooks are responsible for preparing, cooking and packaging deli food products, according to department processes and standards.

Must be able to promote Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience by working with your department as a team, greeting customers, offering assistance to customers and answering customer questions.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

Deli Cooks prepare deli food products. Including batch cooking entrees for hot case, hot bar, and grab and go case and salads for the salad case.

Must be able to maintain proper food safety standards, must be able to stay organized, prioritize, and plan.

Responsible for frying chicken, preparing grilled chicken, rotisserie chickens, and other products cooked in the fryer/kitchen.

Following safe food handling guidelines at all times.

**Other Duties**

Customer service: taking and filing orders over the phone and assisting customers at the service case.

Work with the Deli Manager or Deli Shift Lead to plan the hot case and hot bar menus.

Working the load and organizing the load onto the shelves in the department, cooler, and freezer, stocking and rotating products on the sales floor. Merchandising and building displays.

Assist in other areas of the department when necessary, including but not limited to the meat slicer and salad, sandwich, pizza, and grab and go production.

Maintain department sanitation including, but not limited to washing dishes, taking out garbage, recycling, and compost. Mopping the floors. Cleaning the deli equipment including, but not limited to the meat slicing machine, combi oven, fryers, and rotisserie oven.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements **Qualifications**

Must be at least 18 years old.

Minimum High School Diploma or GED preferred but not necessary.

Prior food service or restaurant preferred. Knife skills are preferred.

Must be able to clearly speak, read and write the English language.

Be a positive and creative trend-setter with excellent customer service skills, problem solving, and decision making skills. Must be able to work on multi-tasked projects.

Must be honest and dependable, able to work independently and as a team member.

May be required to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays, and every other weekend.

MN Food Manager Certification preferred, may be obtained after hire.

Perform duties in a manner that safeguards company equipment, resources and image and which minimizes department losses due to improper product handling, storage, damage and spoils.

**Physical Demands**

Constant standing, walking, hearing, seeing for long periods of time.

Frequent repetitive hand and wrist motions, bending at the waist, reaching arm's length/above shoulders/below waist, crouching, stooping, kneeling.

Frequent to occasional climbing stairs/ladders, lifting up to 60 lbs. and pulling/pushing up to 2500 lbs. with use of pallet jack.

This position requires close/distance/peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision.
