Overview
The eCommerce Specialist will provide a coordinated and consistent approach in deploying and driving adoption and commercialization of digital products and services coming from the Marketing & Digital (M&D Division) of Caterpillar to our customers.
Basic Duties
Assist in the development and movement of key Ecommerce initiatives.
Support the Ecommerce Manager with various campaigns and ad hoc tasks.
Own the day-to-day activities of the e-commerce platform and all online sales efforts. Liaise with Marketing, Sales, and Product Support departments to support customers e-commerce activities.
Sell company products or services on the Internet to new or existing customers.
Contact and interact with potential, new, and existing customers or clients online and over the phone to present information and explain available products or services offered, utilizing persuasive sales techniques.
Answer all questions concerning products or services, with appropriate referrals where required.
Establish professional customer relationships with appropriate customer personnel.
Keep informed of new services and changes that might affect services offered.
Keep informed of company contract procedures and service prices.

ET, SIS, (subscription, renewal)
Altorfer Equipment Data, Cat Equipment Data (subscription, renewal, updates)
Other job duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
A two-year undergraduate degree
OR
equivalent work experience.
Strong understanding of databases.
Extreme ownership mindset.
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and able to write simple correspondence.
Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel Access, etc).
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
This position will primarily work in an office environment, there may be times when you are required to go out into the service and warehouse area and will need to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields). May, on a continuous basis, sit at a desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer the telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Must be able to walk, bend, lift up to 20lbs. Candidates must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
