POSITION SUMMARY

Provide Process Engineering direction and support for all products manufactured on current LATICRETE assets. Manage and provide process engineering expertise and direction for the launch of new products, processes, and quality procedures from R&D to production. Plan, develop and implement process improvement initiatives that result in improved processes for Safety, Quality, and Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned, as necessary.

New Product Development (NPD) and Plant Support (50%)

•Provide engineering expertise for core manufacturing and operational technologies in our current powder mixing and current liquid mixing assets.

•Transition of new products, processes, and QC procedures from R&D to production.

•Provide Technical expertise on (P)FMEA to assess risk for the business to introduce new products.

•Lead focused manufacturing improvement team activities utilizing continuous improvement methodologies; Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques.

•Provide technical support on any production/product issues as required.

•Develop work instructions and work to provide training of operators on equipment and processes.

•Ensure that all production processes followed or exceeded all applicable Federal, State, and local EHS regulations.
  • Work with cross functional business group(s) to ensure that the NPD process is operating efficiently and timely.
  • Work in conjunction with Project Engineering team and Operations to support, design and implement processes for new Cap Ex equipment as required.
Data Management / Technology Implementation (25%)

•Analyze product, process, and QC data identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.

•Plan, develop and implement process changes that yield improved Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE); production efficiencies, yields and rates.

•Analyze the production costs of products and ensure that cost standards are correct.

•Evaluate equipment and process capabilities and make recommendations on new equipment design, new technology, and selection to improve Safety, Quality, and Productivity.

Department and People Management (20%)
  • Supervisory responsibilities for Process Engineering personnel including recruiting, hiring, training, work performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions per company policy.
  • Manage engineers, technicians, and SME consultants to drive innovation projects forward.
  • Manage group budget to meet financial expectations.
  • Develop a rapport with multiple LATICRETE cross functional leaders to facilitate the success of the innovation launch.
  • Lead the training of the engineering NPD group's employees.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment, recognizing and rewarding performance that drives desired results.
  • Provide direct reports ongoing feedback and coaching to aid in development and success within the organization.
  • Lead the career development of the engineering NPD group.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • Engineering degree, master in management, MBA or equivalent relevant experience in introducing and implementing New Product Development in an industrial setting or R&D setting.
Specialized Skills and Experience:
  • 2+ Years engineering supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • 8+ Years experience working in process engineering, R&D process development, or manager manufacturing process development.
  • Strong technical knowledge of engineering in the following area(s): cementitious powder chemistry, powder mixing expertise, Latex chemistry, Epoxy chemistry and general liquid mixing expertise.
  • Strong ability to develop databases and improve data inputting and data integrity.
  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans and prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans.
  • Ability to do simple math calculations, input data into a computer and analyze data is required.
  • Advanced computer/technical skills including demonstrated experience using Access, ACT, Excel, Word and Strong ERP software knowledge.
  • Able to work independently and remotely with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent record keeping, documentation and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and projects simultaneously with shifting priorities, deadlines and focus.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible to lead a team in a dynamic organization poised to expand.
Travel Requirement:
  • Up to 50% (domestic and international).
  • Must have or be able to obtain a passport.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift: Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Push/Pull: Must be able to push/pull 25 pounds.
  • Standing: Must be able to stand at least 50-75% of the day.
