Sr. COST ACCOUNTANT-HYBRID/REMOTE POTENTIAL

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, specializing in silicon and rubber is seeking a skilled Sr. Cost Accountant to join their team and contribute to their continued success and growth. This position is vital in ensuring accurate cost accounting and financial analysis for their manufacturing operations.

Job Summary:
As a Sr. Cost Accountant, you will play a key role in accurately tracking, analyzing, and reporting on job costs to support effective decision-making within the manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including production teams, engineers, project managers, and finance professionals. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contribute to process improvements, and develop the cost models.

Responsibilities of Sr. Cost Accountant:

  • Monitor and analyze job costs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Review and verify production orders, labor hours, material costs, and overhead expenses for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and production teams to ensure accurate recording of costs and timely completion of projects.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to job costs
  • Participate in cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of job cost accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to job cost accounting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.

Requirements for Sr. Cost Accountant:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years experience working as a Cost Accountant with a focus on job costing
  • Proficiency in utilizing accounting software and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and experience with job cost modules is preferred.
