Emergency Services Coordinator I/II About the Position: Are you passionate about public safety, emergency preparedness, and community resilience? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Emergency Services Coordinator I/II to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will support the planning, coordination, and implementation of emergency response and recovery efforts for our community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and wellbeing of our residents through preparedness initiatives, training programs, and real-time emergency support. Emergency Services Coordinator I/II is part of a career series for Emergency Services Coordinator I, II, and III. Under direction, coordinates a variety of activities related to the collecting, analyzing, planning, and implementing of County emergency response systems, services, and requirements; coordinates personnel, communications, and governmental and local resources to assure adequate preparedness and response efforts during unusual or large emergencies; provides information to staff, outside organizations and the public regarding emergency response planning and systems; and does other related work as required. This position includes tasks such as responding to emergency incidents to provide logistical support, representing the office or the emergency operations center at incidents or local emergency operations center as the agency representative Provides a communications link between the incident and the Emergency Operations Center. Knowledge of the National Incident Management System, Standard Emergency Management System, and the Incident Command System. This recruitment is to fill a Limited Term, full-time position. Employees in limited term positions receive benefits equivalent to permanent full-time employees, therefore will be eligible to earn vacation, sick leave, health, and pension benefits. The sunset date for this position is to be determined. The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who sets high standards for themselves, enjoys a collaborative and challenging work environment and is ready to jump in and assist with any type of project, whether at a desk or in the field. This person must have strong writing skills and an ability to communicate across platforms, both in writing and verbally. They must be able to think logically, remain calm and decisive under pressure and keep a respectful attitude in all situations. This is an entry level position, and the ideal candidate does not need a background in emergency management, just the inherent talents and attitude to excel in the position. Education and Experience: A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes: Emergency Services Coordinator I: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in emergency management, public safety, business or public administration or a related field. Emergency Services Coordinator II: The same as above plus one year of experience at the level of Emergency Services Coordinator I.
