Senior Configuration Management Specialist

Responsible for configuration control throughout system lifecycle. Reviews design release documents for completeness, proper approvals and system updates, to ensure correct configuration modifications. Prepares documents to transition configuration control between contract vehicles. Reviews contracts and drafts configuration plans to encompass all specification requirements. Assists in the maintenance of the database. May also be responsible for contract data submittal and status on smaller projects.
The anticipated compensation for the position is $125,000 to $140,000 based on a full-time schedule. Your compensation will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience, and education.
Job Responsibilities
- Assisting in the coordination and administration of configuration management plans and procedures.
- Receives, logs, and maintains program deliverables across various programs and coordinate internal review and approval processes.
- Identifies and maintains the configuration of requirements, design and other technical/process documentation.
- Generates or updates program Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Analyzes engineering change proposals for consistency with system requirements.
- Supports the Quality Assurance Manager in conducting configuration item/system operational baseline change control tracking and configuration auditing.
- Reviews, tracks and reports on all deliveries, including contracts and drafts of configuration plans to encompass all specification requirements.
- Ensures only approved and validated changes are incorporated into baseline configuration items.
- Ensures all program staff members are following the most up to date and approved processes, procedures and work templates.
- Supports technical management staff in other program areas as required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Powerpoint
- Active secret clearance. Top Secret is desired.
- 5 years of relevant experience performing Configuration Management and/or Systems Engineering activities, preferably with Government Space programs.
- Experience with Configuration Control Boards (CCB).
- Journeyman level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the use of an electronic Government authorized information management system, collaboration portal or integrated data environment (IDE).
