A Controls Engineering opportunity at an incredible company based in MA focused on advancing battery manufacturing technologies. The company aims to revolutionize the lithium-ion battery manufacturing process by providing turn-key equipment solutions to battery cell manufacturers globally. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting control systems in industrial settings.



Responsibilities: Design and develop PLC programs for automation and controls systems. Configure and program SCADA systems for monitoring and supporting technology development. Develop HMIs to support R&D and process development functions. Collaborate with process development and design engineers to define system specifications. Implement control strategies to optimize production processes and equipment efficiency. Coordinate with external equipment vendors to align controls development strategy. Conduct testing and validation of control systems to ensure reliability and functionality. Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for deployed equipment. Participate in commissioning and start-up activities for new projects. Document control system designs, configurations, and procedures. Support SQL database systems for data storage and retrieval. Utilize Python (or other applicable software) for scripting, data analysis, and automation tasks.



Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial controls and automation. Familiarity with industrial control networks and field devices. Understanding of industrial communication protocols. Proficiency in SCADA software platforms (preferably Ignition). Familiarity with HMI development and interface design. Knowledge of regulatory standards and safety protocols for industrial automation. Demonstrated experience in problem-solving with technical solutions. Experience engaging with vendors and utilizing remote technical support. Experience working with SQL databases. Proficiency in Python programming for scripting and automation tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Effective communication skills for collaborations with stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering field.
