Embedded Controls Engineer

will focus on developing automated machine systems and optimizing control algorithms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PLC programming, proficiency in Visual Studio, and experience with C++. This role requires a balance of skills in embedded firmware engineering and controls engineering to excel in designing and implementing advanced control systems.

Embedded Controls Engineer

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement PLC software for machine control systems, utilizing Visual Studio and C++ to optimize algorithm performance. Update and enhance existing control systems, including robotic programs, PLC programs, electrical distribution, relay logic, motor controls, and operator interfaces, ensuring seamless integration. Design electrical controls for machines, aligning with customer requirements and industry standards, while efficiently implementing algorithms in C++. Create and update detailed electrical schematics using AutoCAD, focusing on integrating control logic effectively. Drive productivity and improve operator experience through programming changes, equipment upgrades, and HMI screen enhancements, utilizing Visual Studio and C++ for advanced functionality. Collaborate with customers and sales teams to define project requirements accurately, providing technical expertise in control system design. Assist in developing project estimates that align with customer expectations, leveraging proficiency in C++ and Visual Studio. Adhere to project timelines and meet engineering design release deadlines, ensuring efficient execution of control system development. Provide technical support to customers, manufacturing, sales, and field service teams, utilizing expertise in Visual Studio and C++ for troubleshooting and optimization.

Embedded Controls Engineer Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical controls, with a strong focus on PLC programming and proficiency in Visual Studio and C++. Hands-on experience with motion control, robotics, machining, and automation. Proficiency in HMI programming using Visual Studio, JavaScript, C#, and C++. Strong skills in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for electrical schematic design and system modeling. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
