A growing services organization in California is looking to add a new Benefits Manager for a promising opportunity with their growing team. In this role, the Benefits Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of employee benefits programs and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

The Benefits Manager will:

  • Lead and administer all aspects of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) programs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with benefit providers, third-party administrators, and insurance carriers to optimize benefit offerings, cost-effectiveness, and quality of services
  • Ensure benefits policies and practices are in full compliance with federal and state laws, regularly update policies as necessary, and stay current on industry best practices
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive benefits strategy that aligns with the company's overall objectives and enhances employee satisfaction and retention
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process, including plan design, communication, and education to employees to drive informed decision-making
  • Manage the new hire benefits enrollment process, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for all employees
  • Oversee the administration of the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) programs, ensuring compliance, timely notifications, and accurate billing for eligible participants.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, ADA, and FMLA matters, ensuring a positive employee experience
  • Implement cost-control strategies while maintaining competitive benefit offerings, and manage the benefits budget effectively
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks related to benefit programs and employee leave policies
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Benefits Management, ADA / FMLA Administration, and Vendor Management
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. and Canadian benefits regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proven experience in managing benefit programs in a large, multi-location organization
  • Proficiency in COBRA regulations and administration
  • Experience in developing and implementing new hire benefits enrollment processes that are user-friendly, efficient, and compliant with regulations
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Benefits Administration systems
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Master's Degree and/or relevant certifications (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SPHR)
