Performs a wide range of clerical and secretarial duties. Works under the close supervision of
the immediate supervisor.
Essential Job Duties
- Provides exceptional customer service to guests
- Answers phones in a prompt and courteous manner
- Prepares departmental paperwork such as correspondence, reports, forms, agendas, and related material.
- Organizes and maintains office/departmental accounts, records, and statistical data.
- Serves as office/departmental receptionist.
- Provides administrative support to division manager and/or assigned staff.
- Manages schedules for Veterans' Services Officers and the Manager of Veterans' Services
Education/Experience:
High school diploma / GED and one (1) year of related working experience, or an equivalent combination of formal education and related working experience.
Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations:
- None
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of office policies and procedures.
Knowledge and practice of organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database computer programs.
Ability to operate various office equipment.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to use a personal computer and various computer programs.
Ability to maintain and update logs, files, and records with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to prepare correspondence and reports.
Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to effectively interact and establish working relationships with staff and the public.
Typing/keyboard skills.
