**About the Role**

In our quest to help people celebrate life through food, we are building the most integrated grocery supply chain in the world by re-imagining how we move both fresh and prepared food from producers to customers.

Weee is looking for a Senior Director of Transportation Systems to help us realize that mission. In this capacity, you will provide the vision and leadership to grow our engineering team. You will own all components of transportation systems that manage first, middle, and last mile operation. We are looking for a strong technical leader who is able to make good judgment calls in the face of uncertainties. You will be one of the most senior engineer leaders in the company that will help shape the future of our technology platform.

**Responsibilities**

* Develop the transportation systems organizational vision to support our companys growth target.

* Hire and grow the team to accomplish your vision.

* Own the availability and scalability metrics of our transportation systems.

* Participate in crafting the technical direction of the company.

* Technical advisor to transportation business and operation leaders.

**Qualifications**

* Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering.

* 15+ years software engineering experience, with 3+ of those focusing on transportation systems.

* 7+ years building, managing, and scaling software engineering teams.

* 5+ years owning a cloud based software stack.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Familiarity with AWS .

* Experience with fast growing, technology enabled, start ups.

* Experience managing geographically dispersed teams.

* Experience with information security.

* Excellent organization, analytical, quantitative, and presentation skills.

* Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units.

* Ability to work in an ambigous and fast-paced environment with a "can do" attitude.

* Strong attention to details, yet able to look at a wide array of choices and identify what truly matters.
