Paul, Weiss is looking for a Business Development Director to support its Latin America Practice. This role will play a pivotal role in driving growth and enhancing the firm's market position across Latin American markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic business development plans and strategies, fostering client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities to expand the firm's presence and services in the region. The Director will work closely with partners and client service teams and collaborate across the Business Development department to facilitate a seamless support model that strengthens trusted-advisor relationships with the Firm's strategic clients. This role will report into the Deputy Chief Marketing Officer. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies tailored to the Latin American market. Collaborate with partners and practice leaders to identify growth opportunities and align business development activities with the firm's strategic objectives. Collaborate with the communications team to develop a comprehensive visibility strategy to continually enhance the profile of the practice in the market place, including developing relationships with relevant media and conference organizers. Conduct market analysis to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and potential areas for expansion; identify opportunities to bring value-added services to clients within Paul, Weiss framework. Lead and track multiple, complex sets of client relationship activities including events, sponsorships, RFPs and other new business opportunities, secondments, and custom client marketing efforts. Develop and provide regular client relationship reporting focused on key metrics, strategic actions, impact, client satisfaction, etc. for both firm leadership and the client team. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for cross-selling services Work with the partnership to develop clear, concise and compelling marketing material for use in proposals and formal RFP responses, survey and directory submissions and website information; attorney biographies, practice descriptions and experience lists. Draft maintain and refine marketing materials; conduct market and deal research; track industry/client trends; identify and support high-impact conference and sponsorship opportunities for LatAm attorneys; and collaborate on bespoke practice-specific initiatives/projects and general practice support, including client events and seminars. Analyze data on companies, individuals, markets and competitors to help identify new business opportunities for existing and prospective clients in conjunction with research team Develop an understanding of targets and goals and collaborate on materials and information to shape strategic, proactive plans and competitive positioning. Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and seminars, enhancing the firm's visibility and reputation in the region. Identify and manage the firm's profile in and submissions for relevant legal directories, awards, and rankings. Other projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Strong understanding of the Latin America markets and transactional market dynamics. Minimum of ten years of experience in a successful business development or marketing role in a professional services environment focused on a corporate practice is a requirement Deep knowledge of corporate practices is required. Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese, in addition to English, is highly desirable. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful business development strategies. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Excellent relationship-building skills, with a network of contacts in the Latin American legal and business communities. Works well independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and operate within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize information and facts to provide firm-relevant solutions to difficult and complex situations and issues. Willingness to travel frequently to Latin America and within the United States. WORK ENVIRONMENT This role requires interaction with firmwide attorneys and administrative personnel on a regular basis, as well as communicating information to various groups within the broader marketing/business development department. The successful candidate will possess outstanding proofreading and communication (oral and written) skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a demanding environment with meticulous attention to detail and a professional demeanor. Travel may be required. Ability to respond to calls-to-action outside of standard business hours.
