JOB SUMMARY
As a member of the Finance Business Partnership (FBP) for Consumer Operations (CO), the Sr Manager, Finance – Brand, will support the execution of financial management processes which support the financial and operational business strategies and plans designed to enable CO to achieve its business objectives. Providing support to the financial management of Brand as well as the Marketing Program Funds (the “Funds”), this individual will serve as the primary finance business partner to the senior brand leadership team and will be designated to specific brand segment(s) support.
The Sr Manager, Finance will also provide proactive support to ensure the financial management, reporting, and analysis needs of CO are met through effective partnerships with the various Global Finance groups. This individual will establish and maintain strong relationships with CO stakeholders to help effectively address business issues, identify and implement appropriate solutions, influence, as appropriate, business decisions, and improve overall business results.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Lead/support return on investment analyses and other projects in support of brand initiatives. Follow up with responsible parties when necessary on issues and variances that need explanations and resolution. Assist in the reporting of the Brand Initiatives and related analysis
Manage long-range planning process and the enterprise-wide annual budget for assigned Brand stakeholders. Support the timely and effective execution of the enterprise-wide annual budget, forecast, and long-range planning processes (LRP), partnering with FBP FOCEHL, CO stakeholders, and Marriott Business Services (MBS).
Provide financial leadership to assigned Department Heads; review analysis and forecasts, variances to forecasts, actual spend, and other issues that impact various funding sources. Resolve discrepancies; develop and implement actionable recommendations and responses to address identified business challenges and opportunities.
Lead/Support the ongoing monitoring and analysis of the costs to ensure funding and cost allocation methodologies are appropriately and consistently applied and spending levels are aligned with brand priorities and plans; as well as activities related to the development and implementation of new programs, services, and initiatives to include development of complex activity-based cost models and analyses of funding approaches that are in compliance with management and franchise agreements.
Partner with Marriott Business Services (MBS) and other Global Finance groups, as appropriate, to provide routine and ad-hoc operating results and analysis to CO staff.
Partner with the FBP CO team and the appropriate Global Finance groups, as appropriate, to develop and/or modify reporting tools to ensure CO operating results, programs and services funding and costs are accurately reflected in company financials.
Perform analyses related to the development and implementation of new programs, services, and brand initiatives in CO. Support the development of funding approaches/recommendations compliant with management and franchise agreements.
Lead/Support reporting & analysis needed for Programs & Services Agreement Compliance (PSAC) Advisory Committee approval.
Lead/Support the completion of the annual compliance processes/procedures (i.e., Prepared by Client workpapers, Agreed Upon Procedures, Federal Disclosure Document, Owner Disclosures). Respond to compliance, financial, and internal control audit requests as required (e.g., AUP, Sarbox, etc.). Ensure that compliance processes and/or procedures are executed.
Perform ad-hoc analyses for and/or provide information to and advise, as appropriate, the FBP CO team, CO and Continent stakeholders, and other Global Finance groups on the business environment and key operating issues within the discipline.
Support CO procurement processes and compliance through financial fund management and allocations reviews.
Work with respective business teams and individuals processing accounts payable and/or other accounting matters to ensure accuracy of invoice processing, accounting and recording. Implement financial controls in accordance with accounting policies and procedures to safeguard accounts payables for Brand teams.
Contribute to the organizational effectiveness of FBP CO by actively seeking to improve processes and clarify work roles. Identify and help implement process improvement opportunities in the interfaces/work processes with Global Finance groups.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
6+ years relevant professional experience
Knowledge of programs and services, and Marriott funding sources strongly preferred
Experience in data analysis and financial modeling; expert in making data-driven decisions
Solid knowledge of funding mechanisms and accounting policies, principles, practices, procedures and systems
Understanding of Marriott management and franchisee contracts
Excellent computer skills: advance knowledge of MS Excel with strong financial acumen
Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills; able to take complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner
Effective problem-solving abilities; recognizes and researches problems and identifies their underlying causes and recommends and implements solutions; can think creatively to identify multiple potential solutions

Education and Professional Certification
