POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position will support Accounting and Finance performing day to day accounting tasks, account analysis, and month end closing activities with the goal of producing accurate financial statements while adhering to appropriate internal controls and deadlines, this includes, but is not limited to, importing, and exporting data, analyzing and explaining variances from expectations, reconciling associated general ledger accounts, and providing management with

timely financial reporting information. All duties are to be performed within Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel (LECH) Standards and Internal Control Standards.

This position ensures the confidentiality, security, and accuracy of team member and guest's records, and promotes positive guest and team member relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and outstanding guest service to fellow team members, guests, vendors, etc. is expected. Regular attendance is required, and on occasion, later hours, holidays or weekend time may be required with project deadlines and a neat well-groomed professional appearance is essential at all times.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position supervises staff accountant(s) and accounts payable staff. This position will interact with management on a frequent basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The essential function of the Senior Accountant include but not limited to:
  • Assists with annual financial statement audit and prepares supporting documentation for the audit; supports the Staff Accountants and may serve as back up to the Director of Finance.
  • Preparation and distribution of financial statements and other internal reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform detailed account analysis, reconciliation of general ledt1er accounts, as well as facilitation of monthly financial closing schedule.
  • Ability to be flexible, self-motivated, resourceful, and organized to work in a multi-functional role.
  • Prepare and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger for the Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and import into the general ledger system to ensure accurate reporting of departmental and consolidated data.
  • Analyze financial results on a timely basis to ensure informed business decisions are made. Analysis shall be against budget and prior year when feasible.
  • Coordinate the retrieval of data from the financial reporting system and incorporate into expense analysis to the Director of Finance and CFO.
  • Review labor and expense charges. Proved for labor reporting to Management and review of labor distribution.
  • Complete account reconciliations that cross multiple system, which may include auditing work of others to ensure property journal entries.
  • Prepare accrual, reversing and adjusting journal entries as needed.
  • Prepare audit schedules and research/report to audit questions as requested.
  • Analyze and report on capital project costs, operating revenue and expense performance using financial ratio trend analysis and comparison to budget and industry-wide metrics as feasible.
  • Assist in the development of benchmarks for various statistical reporting.
  • Ability to use analytical skills to problem-solve and identify risk areas.
  • Ability to work under strict time constraints and to manage conflicting and multiple deadlines and assignments.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and breakeven analysis for various projects as assigned by the Director of Finance, Controller, CFO.
  • Assist in the preparation of various policies and procedures as requested.
  • Exhibits proper business etiquette and exemplifies LECH's Mission Statement at all times.
  • Has reviewed and understands LECH's Disaster Plan and their role in the event of a disaster.
  • Attends and participates in department meetings as requested.
  • Ensures compliance with LECH Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Works safely and efficiently with equipment, techniques, and products.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required for this position and a minimum of five (5) years general ledger accounting experience within a gaming environment.

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Detail oriented with keen attention to accuracy. Excellent analytical skills. Must have intermediate experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and possess intermediate math skills. Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ability to read, understand and interpret financial data required. Detail oriented and ability to train and coach, Strong sense of urgency and possess the ability to multi-task, take initiative, follow through and work in stressful, time sensitive time frames. Self-starter and strong work ethic is a must. Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong people skills, are a must. Advanced experience with standard Microsoft products and accounting/finance systems preferred including ADP, eTime, etc. Must possess a thorough understanding of all aspects of the general ledger process with specific understanding of payroll, inventory controls and fixed asset accounting required.

Must be a minimum of 21 years old and have the ability to obtain and retain a Washington State Class III Gaming License; successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

ENVIRONMENT:

The environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member may encounter while performing the essential functions of the position.

Primarily indoors and may be exposed to heavy smoke and fluctuations in temperature while in and around the Casino and/or Hotel. May also, from time-to-time be exposed to noise from slot machines, customers, music and public announcement system, as is common in a Casino and/or Hotel environment. Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel operates in a 24/7 environment.

Position, in support of LECH's Pride in Property values, assists with the daily cleaning of public and team member spaces, ensuring hey are properly cleaning (to property standards) and sanitized; examples of daily cleaning protocols include but are not limited to the cleaning of work areas, machines, equipment, using cleaning and sanitizing agents and report of any and all cleanliness issues.
