Avantax is seeking a Licensing Registration Professional III whowill beresponsible for the broker-dealer, registered investment adviser, and insurance agent licensing registration, appointment, and maintenance functions for all Avantax employees, affiliated Financial Professionals, and their support staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The major responsibilities of the position are listed below. To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Duties may include:

  • Speaking confidently, professionally, and knowledgeably on the telephone. This role is within a department phone group that receives/makes inbound/outbound phone calls.
  • Must be a self-starter and manage workload independently in a work queue and department email folder with little supervision.
  • Process timely Form U4 and Form U5 transactions within a work queue.
  • Process, monitor, and document insurance license and carrier appointment requests within internal systems.
  • Regular and timely follow-up with financial professionals, support staff, and internal staff on pending requests.
  • Perform regular updates to financial professional and support staff contact records and branch office records as required in CRD, IARD, and various internal systems to ensure the records remain accurate.
  • Monitor monthly and annual licensing requirements for the purpose of ensuring licenses and registrations remain active.
  • Maintain the physical or electronic files for all Avantax affiliates.
  • Other duties assigned to support the Licensing and Compliance organizations.

Education & Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of financial services/insurance industry or equivalent experience.
  • Series 99 preferred.
  • Prior broker-dealer or registered investment adviser back-office experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of RegEd software is preferred.

Physical Demand & Work Effort

  • Keying/typing, standing, walking.
  • Sitting for an extended period.
  • Constant mental and/or visual attention; the work is either repetitive or diversified requiring constant alertness in an office environment.
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during the normal performance of the job.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.
