ABOUT AJ OPERATIONS

An extension of AJ Capital Partners ("AJCP") founded in 2008, Adventurous Journeys Operations ("AJ Operations") is the in-house management company for AJCP's hospitality, office, residential, entertainment, and retail assets. By leveraging resources across the company, AJ Operations expands upon AJCP's vertically integrated development approach and is responsible for driving operating performance and guest experience through the alignment of branding, real estate, and property operations. ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing all aspects of the finance function for Chief's. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, planning, month-end close, and directly assist the General Manager with other financial activities and provide guidance in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Tasks include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting & finance operations for food, beverage, and entertainment P&L's
  • Manage the month-end close process for Chief's, including presentation of the balance sheet
  • Verify and record accurate sales and settlement figures for live shows, events, & food and beverage
  • Lead coordination & processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable for the venue in accordance with provided policy
  • Own the daily income audit and journal preparation
  • Assist with physical banking and general cash management
  • Assist with venue reporting to ensure proper departments are being charged and are in line with budget expectations
  • Handle vendor inquiries, reconcile vendor statements, and manage vendor relationships to ensure accurate financials
  • Manage all client inquiry/requests for financial information
  • Research and dispute credit card chargebacks when applicable
  • Assist with year-end audit and provide requested information to ownership accountants and auditors
  • Ensure event clients are aligned with contracted terms from a financial standpoint through event completion
  • Knowledge of Toast, Xtra Chef, Shopify, Resy, Tripleseat, Fintech, Sage Intacct, and all other related operating accounting systems
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information
  • Any other task, written or verbal, that is assigned
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a related position in the hospitality industry
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams, negotiate for resources and influence stakeholders, and gain acceptance of and commitment to plans, ideas, initiatives, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and facilitate meetings
  • Strong experience creating and working with Excel spreadsheets
  • Highest level of integrity and transparency
Preferred
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting system, data warehouse, ERP, etc.
  • Experience working in Tripleseat, Toast, Resy, TixR, Fintech, and/or Shopify applications
  • Proven leadership skills in an F&B or live events/entertainment environment
  • Multi-outlet or multi-property hospitality experience
  • CPA license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, able to lift loads of up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work rapidly, especially during peak periods to ensure that all guests are being serviced properly and necessary operational tasks are being completed in a timely manner
  • Ability to sustain loud noise volume
