Develop technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle of sensor assemblies, including: proposal, concept generation, design, manufacture, integration and test. Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for technical activity and completion of assigned task on time and budget. Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems. May use computer-aided engineering or other design / analysis software in the performance of assignments. Report on progress and status regularly. Utilize root causes analysis methods, develop solutions, and implement those solutions as part of a cross-functional team or as an individual. Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for assignments. Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services. Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements. Develop prototypes to retire key development risks. Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required. Participates in preparation of less-complex proposals. May provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel. Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization. Follow defined work process to support product development Work in a close knit, highly collaborative team. Basic Qualifications and Required Skills U.S. Citizenship is required BS in Mechanical Engineeringor higher (or related engineering discipline) 2+ years of experience. Experience with manufacturing methods and processes, factory standards, fabrication processes, and assembly documentation. Excellent grasp of heat and mass transfer Understanding of materials and material properties Design of experiments and practical problem solving Well-developed communication skills, both in verbal presentations and written documentation Ability to work in a team environment Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to read detailed engineering drawings, specifications and familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M Desired Skills Experience documenting manufacturing processes Experience with various manufacturing processes such as welding, soldering, mechanical assembly, brazing, leak detection, or cleaning. Knowledge of LabView programing Familiarity with cryogenics, vacuum technology, infrared imaging systems, opto-mechanical design, and electromagnetism Experience with transitioning new designs into production. Proficiency using Creo(Pro/E) or equivalent 3D CAD tool Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100 Experience with Power BI GPA 3.2 or higher Working Conditions Sitting for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and carry up to 10 lbs. Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives and reassign priorities Must be able to tolerate changing priorities, and complete assignments despite interruptions Travel up to 10% of time U.S. Citizenship required.
