Job Summary:
CDM Smith is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer 4 to lead and manage the design of mechanical/facilities related projects. The successful candidate will have significant experience in leading and managing the design of mechanical/facilities related projects, with a strong background in piping design and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design of mechanical/facilities related projects, including the development of P&IDs, selection of industrial equipment, and mechanical systems design.
  • Evaluate piping systems utilizing CAESAR II, Bentley AutoPIPE, or similar software as required to ASME B31 Standards.
  • Review draft designs for compliance with ASME Codes, AWWA Standards, federal, state and local regulations and sign off on completed designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff, and develop them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
  • Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Technology or related discipline.
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Welding Engineer (CWeng), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), AGC Certificate of Management Building Information Modeling (CM-BIM)
