The main scope of work is to ensure that the necessary systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently, and safely.This position will also provide oversite to ensure the building owner is providing services required by the leases.This position resides in the Hardin Valley Complex. This position reports to the Hardin Valley Complex Facility Manager. Major Duties/Responsibilities: Working with R&D staff and support organizations to develop system requirements documents for installation of R&D equipment Analyzes the ability of systems and components to meet performance requirements established in specifications Creates conceptual designs and design packages for repairs, replacement, and upgrades of electrical components and systems Develops detailed specifications and statements of work for the design and installation of electrical support equipment Estimates costs related to design, materials, and labor Ensures proper design reviews are conducted Serves as the Technical Project Officer providing oversight and technical direction for equipment installations and testing Ensures compliance with Environmental, Safety and Health and Quality Assurance requirements for subcontracted construction/installation projects Maintains an in-depth understanding of the technical aspects of the facility systems for/which they are responsible Analyzes and trends results of preventative maintenance and equipment performance history Works with equipment owners, vendors, suppliers and building managers to troubleshoot and correct issues Knowledge of standards, codes, and regulations with respect to construction and the maintenance of equipment and facilities Responsible for configuration management of electrical support systems Provides oversight of building leases to ensure required services and maintenance is performed Cultivate a close relationship with customers to understand their needs, respond quickly to their requests, and provide feedback in a timely manner Deliver ORNL's mission by aligning behaviors, priorities, and interactions with our core values of Impact, Integrity, Teamwork, Safety, and Service. Basic Qualifications: An accredited B.S degree in Electrical Engineering is required A minimum of five years of electrical engineering experience in facility systems, operations, and maintenance. Preferred Qualifications: The ability to understand and manage technical issues related to facility infrastructure Candidates should have strong computer skills, good interpersonal abilities, and good communication skills Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs Special Requirements: Q or L clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program. Physical Requirements: Work involves various physical requirements and working conditions. As such, a pre-hire physical will be required after offer.
