Responsible for the child care services provided to children residing in Eva’s Village Hope Residence (Halfway House for Women and Children) Child Care Department.
JOB DUTIES
Embodies Eva’s Village’s core values, voice and tone in order to provide an exceptional and effective experience for our clients, funders, employees, and volunteers.
Follows Eva’s Village Employee handbook, and ensures that all staff are well-versed in the policies and procedures.
Follows the Eva’s Child Care Manual, and ensures that all staff are well-versed in the policies and procedures.
Has a working knowledge of NJAC 10:122 to recommend enhancements to the supervisor for the program and practices of Eva’s Village child care services department.
Conducts an annual review of all departmental policies with recommendations to the supervisor.
Plans and implements the yearly curriculum and activities plan for infants, toddlers, preschool, and school-aged children.
Oversees the hiring of part-time and full-time staff to ensure that qualifications are met.
Oversees the training of all staff as well as ongoing supervision of staff.
Reviews the annual training schedule to recommend workshops on best practices in the field as well as refresher courses for areas of concern.
Holds monthly staff meetings and invites speakers on relevant topics for staff enrichment.
Prepares weekly staff schedule and adheres to ratio standards at all times.
Supervises staff and maintains quality, compassionate care standards.
Supervises any volunteer teachers who assist in the afterschool program.
Fosters collaborative working relationships with program staff throughout Eva’s Village.
Fosters partnerships with area service providers.
Assists as directed by Development in maintaining funder relationships and providing data for grants.
Meets with clients, clinical director, managers, counselors, case managers, as appropriate to solve any issues or complaints.
Attends weekly MDT meetings (if necessary).
Informs supervisor immediately of any critical incidents and/or complaints.
Follows the protocols for acknowledging, investigating, and resolving complaints from staff and clients and ensures that staff are well-versed in these practices.
Provides direct classroom support, as needed.
Other tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Masters Degree
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years in a supervisory role in an early childhood setting
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Intermittent sitting and standing throughout shift.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
Actively participates in quality improvement activities, studies, and committees as assigned.
Actively participates in enhancing client satisfaction.
