Infant Assistant Teacher - Full Time

Location: Tiny Steps Learning Center, Paterson, NJ

Tiny Steps Learning Center is expanding and seeking passionate Infant Assistant Teachers to join our team. We provide a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Position Overview:
The Infant Assistant Teacher will support the Lead Teacher in caring for infants, fostering their development in a nurturing environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with physical caregiving and developmental assessments
  • Supporting the curricular plan
  • Building supportive relationships with staff, parents, and students
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with infant children in a daycare setting,
  • Associate Degree in Education or current CDA certification (Preferred),
  • Strong understanding of child development and infant educational methods,
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills,
  • Ability to work as part of a team,
  • Bilingual English & Spanish preferred,
  • Able to lift up to 45 pounds multiple times per day,
  • Willingness to submit to background checks,
  • CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certification or ability to obtain upon hire,
  • Available to work full-time, including as late as 5:30 pm (Depending on work shift assigned),
Responsibilities:

  • Ensure children’s safety and well-being,
  • Support curriculum implementation,
  • Serve as a positive role model,
  • Foster social and emotional development,
  • Maintain a clean and nurturing environment,
  • Collaborate with Lead Teachers and other staff,
  • Assist in creating engaging lesson plans and tracking progress,
  • Uphold Tiny Steps' values and comply with childcare laws,
