Financial Reporting Manager

The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for the financial reporting of the company. This position requires close coordination and collaboration with cross-functional groups that support the company and its client companies, including corporate accounting, portfolio accounting, property accounting, energy & sustainability and investor relations, as well as with various senior leaders and executives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file quarterly and annual SEC reports, including Form 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks and proxy statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly earnings release and earnings presentation.
  • Manage the internal and external review process of all SEC filings with senior management, external auditors and legal counsel.
  • Monitor and evaluate the potential impact of new authoritative guidance from the FASB and SEC.
  • Ensure effectiveness of internal controls and adherence to US GAAP, SEC and other applicable standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate and prepare board and committee materials.
  • Lead the process for the companys annual sustainability report, working closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants.
  • Develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, internal and external auditors and external consultants.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis for senior leaders and executives as needed.
  • Assist with research on technical accounting and reporting matters.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance. CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience.
  • Combination of public company SEC reporting experience and public accounting experience required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SEC reporting requirements and US GAAP.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast -paced environment.
  • Experience with WDesk/Workiva or a similar SEC filing application is required.
  • Experience with ESG/sustainability reporting is a plus.
  • Experience with real estate, asset managers, and/or commercial lending is a plus.
