Your Role and Responsibilities

As a #Z DevOps Solution Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and producing world-class, client focused IBM Z modernization solutions. These solutions will be implemented by our IBM Technology Experts Labs delivery consultants, to the high standards defined by yourself. As a member of IBM Technology Expert Labs, Solution Engineering, you will be client focused, courageous, pragmatic, and at the edge of technology to optimize and trailblaze new solutions that address real business challenges.

To help achieve this win-win outcome, a 'day-in-the-life' in this role may include, but not be limited to

Working closely with IBM Z clients to understand their main challenges and develop solutions to help them transform mission-critical IBM Z applications for hybrid cloud environments with stability, security, and agility.
Create IBM Z DevOps solutions that use robust toolsets to develop and maintain z/OS applications; visualize applications, data, and jobs on z/OS; develop and test for cloud native app development and modernization in a flexible consumption model.
Working together with IBM Z and Expert Labs Sales team to respond to client opportunities with proposals aligned to their business needs.
Working collaboratively with IBM Z Ecosystem to support customers transfor-mation initiatives.
Working closely with our WW Technology Expert Labs Product Management con-tributing to the development of assets, methodologies and service offerings that will help in making the Z DevOps services scalable, repeatable, and standardized.
Working closely with our WW Technology Expert Labs delivery teams to ensure seamless transition from solutioning phase all the way through to implementa-tion.
Demonstrating a natural bias towards self-motivation, curiosity, and initiative in addition to navigating data and people to find answers and present solutions.
Strong collaboration and communication skills as you work across the client, partner, and IBM team.
Understanding clients' main challenges and developing solutions that helps them reach true business value by working thru the phases of discovery, design, devel-opment integration, implementation, migration, and product

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Deep expertise in solutioning, deploying and optimizing software solutions for IBM Z, LinuxONE and associated operating systems and virtualization software.
Deep expertise in leading Z DevOps services engagements.
Deep expertise in CI/CD solutions, including integrations between Z DevOps products and open source or third-party offerings, SCM migrations and CI/CD pipeline implementations.
z/OS and sub-systems fundamentals (CIS, Db2, z/OS Connect..)
Programming skills: COBOL and Java

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience with IBM Watson Code Assistant for Z (WCA4Z) process and underlying technologies
Experience with advisory type of roles or direct leadership for Z DevOps transformation projects, leveraging business partners for execution as needed.
Experience with the following products will be highly regarded: Developer for z/OS (IDz), Enterprise Edition (IDzEE), Application Delivery Foundation for z/OS (ADFz), Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence (ADDI), IBM Z Development and Test (ZD&T) and IBM Virtual Dev and Test for z/OS (ZVDT)
