Job Summary: The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing Gartner’s Engineers and Mechanical Drafters. This person will utilize mechanical engineering skills in a team environment to facilitate system design for refrigeration, process and mechanical utilities. Work activities involve interfacing with all members of the Gartner team and external parties including clients, subcontractors, consultants, vendors and others as necessary. Strong technical skills and the ability to adapt to a variety of project roles including engineering, design and project management is necessary.

Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and delegate all incoming workload to engineering and drafting staff and ensure timelines are met. Responsible for continued training of engineering and drafting staff. Perform design and engineering to develop project documents including drawings, calculations, operation, and technical manuals. Generate sketches used for drafting and fabrication of mechanical systems and assist development of internal engineering standards and tools. Assist in the handling of project communications and document control. Assist in the execution of quality assurance activities for materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project deliverables. Assist in project estimating and development of technical proposals. Coordinate project delivery between sales and engineering, construction, and service operations. Provide complete and professional work results in adherence to Gartner and industry standards. Perform necessary duties to assure Gartner safety and other policies and procedures are met.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on thermal/fluid systems and/or experience in mechanical systems design. PE or EIT Preferred; MBA is a bonus Strong communication skills including effective public speaking skills and effective writing skills. Must possess strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; CAD is a bonus. Must be self-motivated, driven and able to work with limited supervision. Must be a team player with a willingness to help others in project delivery.
