Technical Delivery Manager - Oil & Gas / Commodities

Location: Houston, Texas

Hybrid / Remote Working

Paritas have partnered with a leading software engineering solution provider that focuses on enabling technology transformation for energy and commodities trading organisations.

We are looking for an experienced Software Delivery Manager to join the client's growing consulting function, primarily focusing on the Financial Services and Energy & Commodities trading sectors.

This role will play an instrumental part in supporting the Senior Business Development Executives in the sales and pre-sales space, providing input to client discussions to help convert opportunities as well as reporting directly to the CTO.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all aspects of bespoke software development and digital transformation; responsibilities will include planning, leading, organising and motivating small agile teams to achieve a high level of performance.
  • Delivery management of one or more projects, with a team of consultants.
  • Commercial activity e.g. workshops, running proof of concepts and pre-sales meetings.
  • You will work closely with the management team to resolve issues and will act as an escalation point for your project teams and clients.
  • Ensuring clients are billed accurately against resource plans

Requirements:

  • A confident communicator with excellent influencing and negotiating skills, comfortable working with senior stakeholders to resolve problems as they emerge and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Exposure/experience in Financial Services or Energy & Commodities trading.
  • Track record of successfully delivering bespoke software development solutions (both greenfield and brownfield) and large-scale digital transformation using a pragmatic application of agile development methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models and multiple agile development principles and practices.
  • Client-focused, positive, creative and driven to work collaboratively to find the right technology solution for the client's business.
