We have an immediate opening for a high-performing Sales Manager to lead our team of sales professionals to help us meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping our company competitive and innovative. Our Sales Manager is responsible for maximizing our sales team potential, crafting sales plans, and justifying those plans to executive leadership. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with excellent sales leadership skills, client relationship building skills and a strong sales skill set. The applicant should have a minimum of 3-5 years’ sales management experience within the logistics, delivery and/or transportation industry. You will be leading a growing team of 15-25 sales representatives that are highly motivated. You will be responsible for driving revenue and providing unmatched service to our customers. This is a highly competitive sales industry, that requires a 24/7 mentality, quick decision making, and incredible customer service to be successful. You’ll be responsible for driving revenue growth, sales strategies, and for the hiring, coaching, and development of Account managers (AM). This position is in-office at our corporate office in Houston, TX. No remote or hybrid work consideration. The ability to travel 25-50% is required. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY. Job Responsibilities: Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team. Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence. Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of Account Managers Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with clients and understanding their needs. Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team. Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status. Contribute to the organization by establishing opportunities and personal sales that generate additional revenue. Responsible for communicating updates, progress, and issues to executive leadership. Assist AMs with strategies to ensure sales targets are met and that a high level of customer service is delivered to the customers. Travel as needed for customer/carrier meetings and industry conventions. Leading a team of Account Managers: To support one-on-ones with Business Development Managers and Account Managers Evaluate weekly activity progress. Discuss monitored activity reports. Status on working opportunities. Prioritize working opportunities. Sell New opportunities. Action plans to increase business in their territories. Effective planning on meeting individual goals on a weekly basis Coaching on sales process Review sales reports, Zoho activity, Operations/Rev Reports weekly Create Action plans with BDMs/AMs Travel to various markets and work with AMs and collaborate with local management. Being available to participate in sales calls via conference calls or in person. Manage in person meetings with prospects. Sales Manager and EVP, C/G on present physically or teleconference assisting in the call. Skills and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. 5+ years’ sales management experience; preferably leading a team of 10+ Strong negotiation and presentation skills Transportation or business services industry experience is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to coach, lead, and motivate others. Ability to be on call, receiving calls from carriers, clients, prospects, and sales associates. Capable of providing strong professional references – customer, superior, peer, and direct-report Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization. Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
