Job Description

The Digital Marketing Specialist will play a key role in crafting and executing impactful email marketing strategies that drive customer engagement and achieve West Music's mission to help people "Play now, Play for life." The person in this role will collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling content across multiple platforms that promotes awareness, conversion, and brand affinity. This position requires a keen understanding of email marketing best practices and a data-driven approach to optimize campaign performance. This position is Hybrid Iowa only

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive email strategies through defining goals, target audiences, and email optimization based on data analytics to continually refine and improve results. This includes A/B testing of subject lines, email copy, calls to action, images, offers, mailing frequency, and more.
  • Manage and grow email subscriber base through development of strategies to attract new subscribers and nurture existing leads.
  • Creative copy development, production, and implementation for company outlets, including website landing pages, email campaigns, online forms, and PPC ads. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop messaging and storytelling in support of company brands and product collections.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers and other marketing team members to obtain and develop rich media content for landing page development, website updates, online forms, and emails.
  • Recommend, develop, and execute triggered email workflows and targeted marketing automation based on customer demographics and behaviors.
  • Manage Google and Bing ads accounts, creating ads, adjusting bids, and tracking expenses against budget.
  • Manage customer information to build email segments and retargeting lists, integrating data from multiple sources.
  • Leverage data analytics to report on the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns and engagement strategies, tracking KPIs and engagement trends.
Education, Experience & Qualifications -

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in marketing, communications, or web development OR
  • 2 years of related work experience in the Digital Marketing field.
  • Experience in writing for digital platforms.
  • Prior work experience translating creative marketing assets into polished and engaging email content.
  • Prior experience with paid advertising.
  • Experience with Data Analytics and Reporting, with Google Analytics experience preferred.


Desired Qualifications
  • CRM, and Marketing Automation software experience
  • Experience with WordPress and Magento web hosting platforms
  • Some coding experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Understanding of SEO best practices for website development

Physical Demands -

The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear. They must be able to perform typing and computer tasks required of this position with or without accommodation. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
