The Marketing Assistant at West Music assists with the successful planning and execution of marketing elements supporting expansion and growth of company sales, products, and services. These vital marketing activities allow us to fulfil our mission of encouraging people of all ages and abilities to: Play now. Play for life. The person in this role will play an integral role in helping build initiatives to grow the West Music customer base and drive profitable sales.

The Marketing Assistant will use their marketing expertise to help execute planning for promotional materials, customer engagement, and other department activities. They will also participate in the development of new campaigns, copy, and other marketing materials. They will communicate directly and frequently with internal key stakeholders, designers, and partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Upon direction from Supervisor, will assist with the management of a wide variety of marketing campaigns including print and digital materials. Will work closely with marketing and web team members with an eye toward deadlines, fulfilling project and task requirements, executing projects, and assignment completion.
  • Work with creative teams to assist with the development of marketing copy, graphic designs, signage, and promotional materials. Actively participate in the proofing of all marketing materials.
  • Social media will be a key component of this position including execution of posts, interactions, events, social listening, coordinating message responses, and feedback.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors for marketing production services as key point of contact.
  • Act as a liaison in the communication of the tasks within marketing initiatives taking place at the regional and national level.
  • Reconcile parts of the Marketing department budget, proactively communicate cost overruns.
  • Assist other departments with special marketing projects.

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business
  • Working knowledge of the Adobe creative suite (specifically Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
