**Team Leader Corporate Planning**

**About the role**
The Corporate Planning team is responsible for assisting the organisation with planning, smoothing out the workload across the 3-year Long Term Plan period, and improving business planning and performance reporting. The team provides planning support and advice across our many, diverse business units from tourism to core infrastructure, and this role traverses running workshops with Councillors to working with individual managers developing business plans. The Team Lead role is responsible for project management of development of the Long Term Plan and Annual Plans.

* Embedding Corporate Planning as BAU
* Annual Plans and the Long Term Plan and supporting material
* Performance Reporting
* Business Reviews (Local Government Act Section 17A reviews)
* Coordinating CouncilMARK & LGPEP performance reviews
* Environmental Scan & Strategy Stocktake
**About you**
You will enjoy working with people across the entire organisation and creating connections within multidisciplinary project teams. You are an expert multi-tasker with great communication skills and are keen to share your business acumen and project management skills to deliver our annual and long-term plans. A strategic thinker, you will thrive on navigating the legislative processes of Local Government, from direction-setting to establishing goals and plans, to deliver value to the Napier community.
As part of the broader Business Excellence and Transformation team, you will contribute to organisational excellence coordinating business reviews and incorporating results of performance reporting into business planning recommendations. The team have local government, policy and analysis expertise. Your business background and project management skills will complete the team.
**To be successful in this role you will need to have:**
* A relevant tertiary qualification in business, public policy, finance or another appropriate field
* Significant (8+ years) previous experience in project management or business management
* Strong leadership qualities and organisational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and assignments
* Understanding of the Local Government Act (2002) and the associated regulatory corporate planning procedures is desired.
